Gallagher Security awarded contract to secure one of South Africa's largest universities

Gallagher’s cyber security tool, Security Health Check, is continuing to receive industry recognition, with five award wins now under its belt. The 2020 Security Today Govies Awards and 2020 Secure Campus Awards are the latest to announce Security Health Check as a winner.
Provided free to all Gallagher customers, Security Health Check is an industry first automated auditing tool that identifies vulnerabilities within a security system, assesses the threat, and provides specific recommendations to mitigate the risk.
“Security Health Check has proved itself invaluable for identifying and rectifying security risks that sites may not have discovered otherwise,” says Steve Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Gallagher. Through automation, Security Health Check also saves time and costs compared to traditional manual audits.
A Security Health Check audit of one Gallagher customer revealed a number of their operators had blank passwords – a major security concern that, once discovered, was easily rectified via a setting on their server. Another customer discovered some access controlled doors were configured incorrectly and could be unlocked using any card, even those not part of their system. Using Security Health Check, they were able to identify all doors with this configuration and fix the issue.
