Hamilton, New Zealand – Gallagher Security has launched a new podcast, In The Know, a monthly series for security and IT professionals navigating the trends, challenges, and changes reshaping the industry.
Hosted by Tim Orr, Sales Manager – South Island, and Kaz Cairns, Business Development Manager, In The Know launched with its first season, IT Meets the Door, a six-part series examining the growing convergence of physical security and IT responsibility, and what that means for the organisations and people managing it.
The launch comes as Access Control systems are increasingly integrated with broader IT infrastructure, from cybersecurity frameworks to cloud platforms and HR systems, leaving many organisations navigating the change without a clear playbook.
“Access Control is no longer a standalone piece of hardware sitting in a facilities cupboard, and organisations are feeling that shift,” says Wayne Scott, General Manager of NZ Sales at Gallagher Security.
“In The Know is our way of meeting people where they are in that journey and giving them something practical to take back to their organisations.”
Each episode of IT Meets the Door, averaging around ten minutes, is accompanied by a companion blog authored by Tim, offering deeper, actionable guidance on the topics covered in the podcast.
“IT teams are inheriting access control responsibilities that didn’t exist in their remit five years ago, and security professionals are being asked to engage with technology in entirely new ways,” says Tim.
“Each episode is designed to be direct and practical, covering not just where the industry is heading but what organisations can actually do to stay ahead of it.”
Following IT Meets the Door, the podcast will move into its second series, From Hardware to Infrastructure, continuing to explore the broader trends, challenges, and shifts defining the future of the security industry.
Gallagher also plans to bring in external guests as the series develops, widening the conversation beyond the Gallagher team.
In The Know launched in May 2026 and releases a new episode monthly. The second episode of IT Meets the Door is available now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
