Gallagher Security Africa expands team with three strategic appointments

Johannesburg, South Africa – Gallagher Security is proud to announce the expansion of its Africa team with the appointment of three experienced professionals: Kyle McCarthy as Training Solutions Engineer, Hendrick (Hennie) Engelbrecht as Technical Business Development Manager, and Patrick McDowell as Technical Business Development Manager.

Morne Grobler, General Manager – Africa, says these appointments reflect Gallagher’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence across Africa, enhancing support for Channel Partners and End Users, and delivering integrated security solutions that protect what matters most.

Kyle McCarthy joins Gallagher as the first dedicated training resource in South Africa, underscoring the region’s strategic focus on education and enablement.

Based in Johannesburg, Kyle will lead training initiatives to ensure partners and customers are equipped with the knowledge they need to maximise the value of Gallagher’s solutions.

“Kyle brings a strong background in technical support, having previously worked as a Technical Support Specialist and Instructor. His appointment reiterates Gallagher’s investment in ongoing support and capability-building across the region,” says Morne.

Hennie Engelbrecht, also based in Johannesburg, joins the South African Sales Team.

With decades of industry experience and a customer-focused approach, Hennie will support Channel Partners and End Users throughout South Africa.

"Prior to joining Gallagher, Hennie served as National Services Manager at Fidelity ADT and Technical, where he built a reputation for delivering high-quality service and fostering strong client relationships," says Morne.

Patrick McDowell brings over 30 years of security industry experience to Gallagher, joining the team as Technical BDM based in Durban. His role focuses on growing the KZN region while supporting colleagues in the Western and Eastern Cape.

Patrick’s career spans system integration, distribution, and OEM roles, including his most recent position at Axis Communications.

“Known for his deep technical expertise and understanding of customer needs, Patrick is passionate about delivering scalable, future-proof solutions that add real value,” says Morne.
