AccessNow: Access, on autopilot
Headlining Command Centre v9.50 is the full release of AccessNow, Gallagher Security's cloud-native platform that automates the entire access and credential request process – from request to approval and provisioning.
In many organizations, granting access is still a largely manual process. Requests arrive by email, approvals get lost in inboxes, and security teams spend valuable time on admin that could be automated. AccessNow changes that entirely.
Users can submit access requests from any device, approvals are automatically routed to the right people, and once approved, access is provisioned automatically in Command Centre.
At the heart of AccessNow is a no code workflow builder that enables security teams to design and customize automations for every type of request they receive, without needing developer support. Whether it’s employee onboarding, temporary contractor access, or visitor credential issuance, the process is consistent, traceable, and fast.
AccessNow is available as an annual subscription, with pricing structured around the number of automated workflows and the volume of requests processed. To get started, contact your Gallagher Business Development Manager.
Accessibility adjustments: PIN exemption
Command Centre v9.50 introduces a new PIN Exemption accessibility option at the cardholder level, allowing individual cardholders to be exempt from the requirement to enter a PIN in card + PIN secured areas.
This update is particularly valuable for employers who need to accommodate temporary or permanent accessibility needs without weakening security policies or relying on access group workarounds.
The PIN exemption feature supports date-bound exemptions, so a short-term accessibility need can be accommodated without permanently changing a cardholder's access profile. No additional license is required, and the feature is fully reportable, configurable through APIs, and compatible with carparks, lifts, and lockers.
Accessibility settings have been consolidated into a dedicated new tab within the cardholder details tile, making it easier for operators to manage these options in one place.
Introducing VisionPass SP Fingerscan Module
Command Centre v9.50 now offers support for the VisionPass SP Fingerscan Module, extending biometric access control to environments where facial recognition alone isn't always the right fit.
By combining facial recognition and fingerprint scanning in a single device, the VisionPass SP Fingerscan Module provides two complementary authentication methods that work together, or independently, enabling inclusive and efficient access control in any conditions.
This flexibility ensures continuity in situations where one biometric method may be less effective, such as:
- Environments with challenging lighting conditions
- Perimeter or vehicle access points
- Regions where facial recognition may not always be appropriate
With a robust IP65 rated enclosure, presentation attack detection, and secure communication, VisionPass SP Fingerscan delivers adaptable, biometric security without compromising assurance.
Turn your security data into decisions: New reporting dataset
What if your security data could tell you more? The new Reporting Dataset feature in Command Centre v9.50 enables security and operations teams to extract deeper insights from their security data, delivering practical analytics and reporting capabilities.
The Reporting Dataset capability introduces a dedicated database that runs alongside Command Centre and connects directly to third-party analytics platforms like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Excel, enabling advanced visualization, trend analysis, and custom reporting.
This opens up new opportunities to:
- Analyze security and access trends
- Identify operational patterns
- Combine security data with business data to get a holistic view and make more informed, data driven decisions across your organization
From understanding peak access times to identifying anomalies in cardholder behavior, the Reporting Dataset empowers data-driven strategies across facilities and security teams.
Manual access event support in time report
Accurate time-on-site data is critical for organizations using Command Centre for safety management, payroll, or contractor billing. Command Centre v9.50 addresses a long-standing challenge: what happens when a cardholder enters or exits a site without using a credential?
Time Reports now support manual access events, including movements initiated from:
- Cardholder Viewer
- Tagboards
- Mobile Client
Manual access events retrospectively update cardholder movements to prevent skewed time-based data and zone location when cardholders enter or exit a site without using a credential.
Reader and controller enhancements:
For Channel Partners and installers working in constrained or retrofit environments, Command Centre v9.50 delivers meaningful reductions in installation complexity.
- Ethernet Bridging allows supported Controller 7000 variants secondary Ethernet port to operate as a transparent network bridge, allowing the controller’s second Ethernet interface to operate as a transparent network bridge. This enables installers to connect up to four additional IP devices, such as cameras or other controllers, eliminating the need to run additional Ethernet cabling back to a network switch. This reduces installation cost and complexity, particularly in retrofit or constrained environments.
- Dual Ethernet Expansion improves reliability, supportability, and design confidence when deploying controllers into complex or segmented network deployments by introducing support for inter-controller communication behavior and improved guidance for designing network connections.
Other features and enhancements
- Remove Apple Account Binding: A new privileged operator action that allows an operator to remove a cardholder’s binding and reset the badge transfer limit, enabling the cardholder to provision a new employee badge with a fresh binding and transfer limit. This resolves situations where a cardholder is unable to provision a new Apple badge due to a prior account link or an exceeded migration limit.
- Secure Controller Diagnostics: Supporting large or distributed environments often means troubleshooting at scale. Secure Controller Diagnostics expands diagnostic capabilities by enabling automated retrieval of controller logs, removing the need to individually log into each controller.
Security is just the beginning
With AccessNow at its core, Command Centre v9.50 is another step forward in Gallagher Security's commitment to unlocking more value for customers.
Automating access approvals, extending access to more of their people, surfacing the data behind daily operations, and simplifying how systems are deployed all build toward the same idea, that security can make an organization more capable, more productive, and more confident, well beyond keeping it safe.
